Ashokan Farewell

If you’re listening to that, I’ll explain what you’re hearing. That is the regional honeybees choir tryouts winners. Coming from windmill hive, they have some of the most talented bee singers around, and the director is none other than the amazingly talented Mr. Shuyeona. I joined them as an instrumental accompanist (each choir group was allowed three instrumentalists).

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it…..

Ok, for real, this is Dr. John Cockman’s arrangement of Ashokan Farewell for three fiddles. I’m playing all three fiddles, and the backing track is from his website: bluegrassdaddy.com

But the story was more interesting wasn’t it?

      1. That’s strange. I can do it with my WordPress. Might have something to do with where you have it hosted. (?) Sorry for the double post. I wasn’t signed in the first time, and I didn’t see it appear, so I re wrote it.

      2. Actually I just realized why it disallowed it. Media uploads are only available for premium bloggers, which requires you to pay money which I’m not willing to do. I’ll add the link to the file as a link

  1. Gunnar…I used “view source” and saw the URL for your version of AF is https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XpfKtdIiecnmu1nx5D0huLuI-eLRI9D_/view?usp=drivesdk I was able to listen to it that way. Great job! Loved it. I think most people who watched Ken Burns’ “Civil War” have no idea that AF was only composed by Jay Ungar in 1982. I think you need it in mp3 format to be supported in WordPress. You can then upload it to your WP media files and insert it into your post.
